Provide direct and indirect care to obstetrical patients, including electronic fetal monitoring and postoperative care. Ensure proper newborn care and perform neonatal resuscitation as needed.
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a valid Tennessee nursing license. Required certifications include BLS, NRP, ACLS, and de-escalation training.
A registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient.
The RN in Labor & Delivery must have the knowledge and skills with electronic fetal monitoring of the obstetrical patient regardless of gestational age. They must be knowledgeable in the postoperative care of the obstetrical patient, be familiar with newborn care, as well as familiar with neonatal resuscitation.
Required: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred: 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience

The Nurse Licensure Compact will not change how to obtain or renew a Tennessee license. However, the Tennessee nursing license will be a single state license for Tennessee Residents or non-compact state residents. Tennessee licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-Tennessee residents.
• Certification in inpatient obstetrics or Women's health field.
