The Transplant Nurse Coordinator collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to facilitate autologous and allogeneic transplants. They serve as the primary contact for patients, donors, and support services, managing pre-transplant activities and educating patients about the transplant process.
Candidates must have a license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York and either a bachelor's degree with one year of oncology nursing experience or an associate degree with three years of experience. Preferred qualifications include experience in Blood and Marrow Transplant, Oncology Nursing, and maintaining a professional nursing certification.
Required Education and Experience License Requirement License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York. Education and Experience 1. Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time oncology nursing experience; or 2. Associates degree and the equivalent of three (3) years of full-time oncology nursing experience. NOTE: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
Bachelor of Nursing degree Experience in Blood and Marrow Transplant and/or Cellular Therapy or Solid Organ Transplant Experience in Oncology Nursing Maintains a Professional Certification in Nursing: prefer ONCC (Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation) related Experience in Patient Care Coordination. Skills including: Highly organized with excellent communication skills Ability to work effectively within teams and independently. Manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
