The Surgical Technologist facilitates safe invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures under a surgeon's supervision. They ensure the operating room environment is safe, equipment is functional, and patient reactions are monitored and reported.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Surgical Tech program or equivalent experience (2-5 years depending on level). BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required, and Surgical Technologist Certification is preferred.
3rd shift - $2.75/hour Weekend - $2.50/hour On-Call Pay - $3.00/hour (time-and-a-half of base rate if called in)
The Surgical Tech works under the supervision and delegatory authority of a surgeon to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive and non-invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. The surgical tech recognizes significant conditions and reactions of the patient and notifies the appropriate patient care team as necessary.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Requires completion of a Surgical Tech program with the ability to sit for certification OR 2 years minimum working in a Surgical Tech role.
