The technician is responsible for monitoring EKG rhythm strips and transcribing physician orders. Additional duties include coordinating desk activities, paging physicians, and obtaining insurance pre-certifications.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, knowledge of medical terminology, and one year of related medical office experience. BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire, and an associate's degree is preferred.
Responsible for monitoring EKG rhythm strips, transcribing physician orders, and performing other support duties including but not limited to paging physicians, obtaining insurance pre-certification, arranging for home and medical care, and coordinating desk activities. Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
