Provide compassionate direct patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living and monitoring vital signs. Support nursing staff by reporting changes in patient condition and maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment.
Requires 1-3 years of healthcare experience and a high school diploma, with CNA certification preferred. Candidates must be able to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting and repositioning patients.
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides compassionate, high-quality direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The PCA supports patient safety, comfort, and daily care needs while helping maintain a positive patient experience and efficient clinical environment.
· Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, and mobility · Obtain and document vital signs, intake/output, and other routine patient information accurately and timely · Perform glucose monitoring and bladder scans and report results to RN · Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests for assistance · Support safe patient transfers, repositioning, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and equipment · Maintain patient rooms in a clean, organized, and safe condition · Observe patients and report changes in condition, behavior, or safety concerns to nursing staff immediately · Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient transport as needed · Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and families · Follow infection prevention, safety, HIPAA, and hospital policies and procedures · Assist RNs and physicians with other exams and treatments as required
Years of Experience: 1-3 years previous healthcare, hospital or long-term care experience Language Skills: Proficient in English both verbally and written Preferred Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent – CNA certification preferred
