The technician manages automated dispensing cabinets under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Primary duties include the distribution and documentation of controlled substances and the verification of stock medications.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least one year of pharmacy service experience. National Certification of Pharmacy Technicians must be obtained within one year of employment.
St. Mary's Medical Center is looking for a Full Time Pharmacy Pyxis Tech. The Pyxis technician, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, assists in the management of the automated dispensing cabinets. The major job responsibilities of this position are: distribution and documentation of controlled substances, control and verification of certain stock medications and charging accountability.
High school diploma or equivalent. Passing National Certification of Pharmacy Technicians within one year of employment
A minimum of one (1) year experience in Pharmacy service to be eligible for the technician training program. Satisfactory completion of the technician training program.
Typing proficiency; basic computer skills; good math skills; above normal motivation; demonstrated ability to assume responsibility; good moral character and integrity; ability to communicate with and present a pleasing personality to the public and the institutional staff; ability to acquire the appropriate knowledge and skills required. Proficient with Excel (preferred).
