The Histotechnologist performs routine histology tasks including fixation, processing, embedding, and staining of human tissue for evaluation. They also assist pathologists with frozen sections and FNA procedures while maintaining quality control documentation.
Requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree with specific credits in biology and chemistry. Candidates must hold ASCP certification as a Histotechnologist or Histotechnician and preferably have one year of hospital-based lab experience.
