The role involves delivering direct patient care, including preparation, vital sign collection, assisting with procedures, and administering medications under provider direction. Responsibilities also include extensive administrative tasks such as scheduling, coordinating referrals, managing documentation, and communicating care plans to patients and families.
Candidates must successfully complete a medical assistant program and obtain one of several specified certifications (CMA, RMA, NCMA, etc.) within one year of hire, along with obtaining Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within three months. Proficiency in basic computer skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a shared leadership environment are also required.
