The Nursing Assistant provides essential patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living and patient transport. They are responsible for documenting treatments and monitoring patients for safety and changes in condition.
Candidates must be a Certified Nursing Assistant and obtain Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with previous hospital or nursing home experience or completion of specific training.
Assists patients with ADL’s according to hospital procedures, reports all abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to nurse in charge of patient. Assists with ambulation of patients and uses assist devices as appropriate to protect patient and staff member. Assists with restocking of rooms and maintain a safe and clean environment. Attends appropriate training programs, unit meetings and other mandatory meetings. Seeks to be involved in unit improvements, quality projects, and other enhancements to patient care. Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
Education: Must be actively enrolled in high school or an equivalent program required. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
