Provide age-appropriate nursing care and make clinical decisions while collaborating with healthcare professionals to meet patient needs. Adhere to departmental policies, the North Carolina State Nurse Practice Act, and CVMC Nursing Bylaws.
Must be a graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program with a current NC Licensed Practical Nurse license and BCLS certification. No previous experience is required, though one year of inpatient hospital experience is preferred.
Provides nursing care and makes nursing care decisions that are appropriate to the age of the patients served, incorporating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Collaborates with other health care professionals to meet the needs of the patient. Responsible for adhering to CVMC/departmental policies, procedures and philosophy to deliver quality patient care, practicing within the guidelines of the North Carolina State Nurse Practice Act and abiding by the CVMC Nursing Bylaws.
The IRT Licensed Practical Nurse will float to the assigned units and take an independent assignment or be assigned to other duties per scope of practice. Competency requirements will include all annual education and certifications required by each assigned individual unit to maintain competencies. Refer to the Licensed Practical Nurse Performance Expectations for each department’s additional requirements by practice area.
No previous experience required. Given training and on-the-job experience incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
One year hospital experience working in inpatient areas.
