The Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech) I is responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammography procedures to assist in the detection and diagnosis of breast diseases. This role requires a high level of technical proficiency, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to patient-centered care. The Mammography Technologist I works collaboratively with Radiologists and other healthcare professionals, ensuring accurate imaging and patient comfort while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and regulatory standards, including FDA/MQSA and ACR requirements.
1-3 years of experience in radiologic imaging required 2-4 years experience as a mammographer in an acute care hospital setting preferred
Proficiency in mammographic positioning, imaging techniques, and radiation safety standards. Strong understanding of FDA/MQSA, ACR, and state regulatory compliance requirements for mammography. Ability to effectively communicate and provide patient education with empathy and professionalism. Knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques for mammography-guided procedures. Attention to detail in documenting patient information, reports, and image storage requirements. Proficiency in PACS, electronic medical records (EMR), and mammography equipment operation. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in technical troubleshooting and patient care situations. Licenses and Certifications Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state required ARRT Radiography Certification required and (M) ARDMS or ARRT - Mammography certification or eligibility to obtain within six (6) months of hire required BCLS - Basic Life Support required AllianceHealth Durant is a 138-bed licensed acute care facility dedicated to providing safe, quality healthcare through a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services.
