Develops and implements individual plans of care for patients with complex cardiac needs, including those on life support. Serves as a clinical resource and mentor to the healthcare team while managing lab supplies and cost-saving strategies.
Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing, Cardiovascular Technology, or Radiology Technology, along with a Registered Nurse license in Virginia. Candidates must have at least two years of experience in an interventional cardiac cath lab or EP lab and hold BLS and ACLS certifications.
Formulates an individual Plan of Care for patients with complex needs to achieve a desired outcome. Acts as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team members while displaying leadership behaviors. Identifies own learning needs based on self-evaluation and the progress made from the previous year's goals. Demonstrates evidence of self-development activities (beyond orientation) and attends services/seminars related to field. Anticipates/maintains lab supply needs during procedures. Supports and suggests departmental cost-saving strategies and provides care in an efficient and cost conscious manner. Performs higher-level tasks in the care of cardiac cath patients (e.g. Impella and new technologies). Provides complete care of patients with complex needs to achieve desired outcomes including patients on life support systems (e.g. ventilator and ECMO). May perform additional duties as assigned.
