Provide expert evaluation and management of complex heart failure and heart transplant patients in an acute care setting. Collaborate with the transition team to reduce hospital admissions, readmissions, and length of stay for ER and consulting patients.
Requires a Master's degree in nursing and valid Advanced Nurse Practitioner licensure and prescriptive authority from the Texas Board of Nursing. Current life support certifications and at least one year of relevant clinical experience are preferred.
JOB SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our Advanced Heart Failure team in a dedicated consult role. This position focuses on expert evaluation and management of patients with complex and decompensated heart failure and heart transplanted patients in the acute care setting. Additionally, the advanced HF APP will work closely with the HF transition team to reduce hospital admissions, readmissions, and LOS for patients in the ER and consulting services.

Required Education Master's Degree Master's degree or higher in nursing, documentation of completion of accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. Licenses and Certifications (ANP) ADVANCED NURSE PRACTITIONER by Texas State Board of Nursing and Authorization for prescriptive authority by the Texas Board of Nursing. and Must hold and maintain current applicable life support certification(s) based on UT Southwestern guidelines for Advanced Practice Providers. Preferred Experience 1 year relevant clinical experience.
