The Optometric Technician prepares patients for exams by recording histories and performing preliminary diagnostic tests. They also maintain clinical equipment and manage patient records to ensure efficient eye care delivery.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and completion of a formal optometric technician training program or relevant clinical experience. Certification as a Certified Paraoptometric (CPO) and familiarity with EHR systems are preferred.
