The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for delivering optimal patient care using the Nursing Process and adhering to hospital standards. Key duties include accurate documentation, patient advocacy, and implementing individualized learning plans for patients and families.
Candidates must be a licensed Registered Professional Nurse in New York with current BLS certification. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing and prior experience in Labor and Delivery are preferred.
The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the delivery of optimal patient care utilizing the Nursing Process, and adhering to standards of care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. Exhibits critical thinking and problem solving skills. Performs complete, accurate documentation (PIs, data collection, admission assessments, POC, etc.) in accordance with policies and procedures. Identifies individualized patient/significant other’s learning needs and implements appropriate measures to address identified knowledge deficits. Demonstrates knowledge, respect, and sensitivity concerning patients’ rights. Serves as a patient advocate. Assures confidentiality of patient information. Maintains effective communication with all staff, physicians, patients, families and other departments. Participates in the development of standards and unit performance improvement activities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York. Current BLS certification. Labor and delivery experience preferred.
