Provide consultation, evaluation, and speech-language pathology services under the supervision of a licensed professional. Establish rehabilitative plans of care and coordinate services with other medical disciplines to facilitate patient recovery.
Must be a graduate of an ASHA-approved speech-language pathology program with a Limited Permit. Experience with swallowing evaluations and communication therapy for neurologically impaired populations is preferred.
Establishes a rehabilitative plan of care with realistic goals following a functional evaluation evaluation for all patients, under the supervision of a licensed speech language pathologist. Provides education to patients, family members, students, staff and to the community at large, under supervision of a licensed speech language pathologist. Coordinates services with other medical disciplines, making recommendations as appropriate to facilitate a complete rehabilitative process, under the supervision of a licensed speech language pathologist. Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, state & local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program & Code of conduct, as well as other policies, procedures & guidelines in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical & professional behavior and safe work practices. What you will need: Graduate of a speech-language pathology program approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Speech Language Pathologist Limited Permit Verification by an ASHA approved graduate program that all academic coursework has been completed, prior to beginning Clinical Fellowship. Clinical rotation in Inpatient Acute is required Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Strong time management skills BLS for Health Care Providers preferred. Experience with Modified Barium Swallow, electro larynx, tracheostomy speaking valves and augmentative communication equipment. Experience administering clinical swallowing evaluations/therapy programs and communication evaluations/therapy for neurologically impaired and medically fragile populations.
