The Nursing Intern provides population-specific care and assists with objective patient assessments under the supervision of an RN preceptor. They are responsible for organizing care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of patient care.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in an RN program within 12 months of graduation and hold a current BLS certification. Required documentation includes official transcripts, letters of reference, and proof of personal malpractice insurance.
The Nursing Intern must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assist with the collection of data for objective assessment, and to identify the needs and requirements of the patient and report to the charge nurse/team leader. They will act within the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse. The Nursing Intern works under the direct supervision of an assigned RN preceptor who reports directly to the charge nurse/team leader.
