The Staff Psychologist administers and interprets various psychological tests for pediatric patients to diagnose neurodevelopmental and genetic disorders. They prepare narrative reports and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to recommend intervention plans for families.
Requirements summary
A Master's degree in Psychology is required, with a PhD, PsyD, or EdS also eligible. Candidates must have 18 months of clinical experience in pediatric psychological assessment and preferably hold a North Carolina license.
Pediatrics: Cloverdale - 2200 Cloverdale Avenue, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 The Section of Developmental Pediatrics provides outpatient interdisciplinary evaluation and treatment of autism spectrum disorder, intellectual developmental disorder/intellectual disability, other neurodevelopmental disorders, and genetic disorders/chromosomal anomalies. Developmental Pediatrics provides evaluation and intervention services through in person visits, as well as telehealth (video conferencing).
For: Master's degree in Psychology (school, clinical, or related) required Ed. S., Ph.D, and Psy.D completers are also eligible to apply Eighteen months of clinical experience in psychological assessment with a pediatric population Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder is preferred, including ability to administer the ADOS-2 Licensure in North Carolina as a Psychological Associate or Licensed Psychologist is preferred Will consider candidates who are licensure eligible in the state of North Carolina based on their previous training, have passed their required licensure tests, and only need to complete their supervised work experience for licensure Supervision for psychologists is available within the department

You’ll Do: The Staff Psychologist selects and administers a variety of psychological tests to pediatric patients based upon patient case history, intake appointments with parents of patients, and testing objectives. Independently interprets tests Prepares a written narrative report of diagnostic findings Communicates assessment results to families Makes recommendations for intervention planning and monitoring based on assessment results Functions within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals Option to conduct individual and group therapeutic interventions with children and/or parents If the applicant has training or interest in that area.
