The Physician Anesthesiologist is trained to provide pain relief and maintain stable conditions during and immediately following procedures, while also offering medical management and consultation in pain management and critical care medicine. Duties include interviewing patients, interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing illnesses, designing treatment plans, prescribing medication, and supervising post-anesthesia recovery.
The minimum educational requirement is a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, along with a current Licensed Medical Doctor license for the State of Pennsylvania. The position works a scheduled 40-hour week on a shift-based schedule and does not accrue PTO or CME days.
