The Nurse Practitioner oversees the quality of care for patients, performing psychiatric assessments and determining clinical appropriateness for admission. They provide individual and family therapy, manage medications, and handle documentation for patients under civil commitment.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with an active Arizona license as a Psychiatric/Mental Health APRN or PMHCNS-BC. A minimum of two years of experience in mental health and current CPR certification are required.

Arizona License as a Psychiatric/Mental Health APRN or Psychiatric Mental Health Certified Nurse Specialist – Board Certified (PMHCNS-BC) or ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center Prior experience in a hospital based psychiatric practice and outpatient psychiatric practice preferred Must maintain active status with medical staff and obey Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Maintain current professional license Where applicable, maintain current liability insurance Current AZ State Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card Mininimum two years’ experience in mental health. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be certified in CPR upon hire and bi-annually thereafter and must possess or obtain and be able to perform Handle With Care within 30 days of hire and re-certify as needed. Must complete all required mandatory in-services annually. Must be tested for Tuberculosis with a PPD skin test or chest x-ray upon hire and as required thereafter.
