Perform histocompatibility assays and laboratory procedures to assess patients and donors for transplantation. Manage specimen processing, operate laboratory instruments, and participate in a rotating on-call schedule for urgent testing.
Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and Florida certification as a Technologist in histocompatibility, immunology/serology, or immunohematology. Candidates must seek ABHI certification as a Certified Histocompatibility Technologist within three years of employment.

What You’ll Do As a Medical Technologist /Histocompatibility Technologist, you will directly contribute to LifeLink’s life-saving mission.
Under supervision, learns and performs all histocompatibility assays required for complete assessment of patients and donors for transplantation. Rotates on-call duty to ensure laboratory services are continually available.
Pleasant routine working conditions. Requires occasionally working under time restraints consulting with senior personnel to make critical decisions that impact patient care. Organs are assigned and surgeons operate based on decisions made by the technologist, therefore, the responsibility of being on call imposes some level of stress. Involves occupational exposure to reagent carcinogens, blood and other potentially infectious materials.
