Overview

The Street Outreach Program provides on-the-street services, including crisis and survival care and referral information to street youth in an attempt to increase their personal safety and encourage them to partner with us to leave the streets for a more stable living environment. The Community Navigator engages homeless youth with the goal of increasing their access to community resources and natural safety nets. This position will assist homeless youth and young adults in crisis intervention, problem solving, action planning, and skill building, to address immediate life and safety issues, reduce the risk of sexual exploitation and abuse, and reduce or prevent incidents of homelessness.

Schedule

Full time 35 hours per week. 35 hours per week. 2 evening shifts a week. Weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

Crisis intervention Screening and assessment Individual counseling Case management Community outreach to locations where youth are known to congregate Transportation of youth as needed Maintain client confidentiality Engage youth to offer services and referrals Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degreen in Human Services or related field AND 1year related experience OR equivalent combination A valid driver's license Skills: Strong knowledge of community resources Strong literacy and communication skills Strong knowledge of adolescent development including positive youth development, asset development, risk reduction, and protective factors Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Advanced knowledge of Internet Explorer Pay Rate: $19- $21 per hour *All Offers may be contingent on a Background check and Driving record & Automobile insurance that meets agency insurance carrier requirements.
