The Occupational Therapist develops and implements therapeutic groups for adolescent and adult patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting. They are responsible for assessing patient functioning, documenting progress, and collaborating with the treatment team to meet long-term goals.
A Master's degree in Occupational Therapy is required, and prior experience in a psychiatric or behavioral health setting is strongly preferred. Candidates must obtain CPR certification and Handle with Care competency upon hire.

Develops, organizes and facilitates occupational, activity and skill development groups for patients Ensures groups are age appropriate and consistent with level of growth, development and functioning Conducts all assigned occupational, therapeutic and activity groups Effectively utilizes the screening process to determine each patient’s general level of functioning in the areas of self-management, work/education, and social functioning in order to identify and deliver appropriate therapeutic services Documents appropriately patient assessments, group notes and narrative notes utilizing chart and/or electronic medium as necessary. Assists in providing a therapeutic milieu for patient programming dapts group protocol to engage all participants regardless of individual functional capacity Identifies short-term goals and monitors progress toward identified long-term goals on the treatment plan.
