The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing services, including medical screenings and routine care, for patients in a chemical dependency or psychiatric setting. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to manage patient health and contribute to the development of Master Treatment Plans.
Candidates must have at least an Associate's degree in nursing, a valid Massachusetts RN license, and current CPR certification. A minimum of one year of experience in a chemical dependency or psychiatric setting is required.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for all Nursing related services for each patient and for linking patients to the physicians and to outside medical resources. They participate in the Interdisciplinary Team Meetings when necessary to inform the clinical team about medical issues and are available for emergency medical situations. The Registered Nurse provides all services under the supervision of the Medical Director. The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing medical & history screens, providing routine nursing care, and overseeing the medical and psychiatric management of the patient in coordination with the attending physician. They are also a member of the Treatment Team and provide input into the development of the Master Treatment Plan.
A minimum of an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Must have passed National Council Licensure Examination
(NCLEX)
A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a chemical dependency/psychiatric setting, preferably in a detox unit and/or inpatient, partial hospitalization and/or
outpatient setting preferred.
Licensed to practice nursing in Massachusetts; maintaining current licensure per state requirements as a Registered Nurse (RN). Maintains current CPR Certification.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Position is required to work in a temperature-controlled environment; 80% - 90% of the time spent indoors. Potential ex . Potential exposure to airborne/blood-borne pathogens or other potentially infectious materials.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
