The technician processes medication orders, prepares medications for dispensing, and manages the distribution and stocking of patient care locations. They also assist pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care and maintain pharmacy automation equipment.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, CPHT certification, and State Board of Pharmacy registration. Previous experience in medication distribution is required, with hospital and automation experience preferred.
Works under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care services, while considering patient specific factors, through the prioritization and processing of medication orders, the preparing of medications for dispensing, distribution and stocking of patient care locations for subsequent drug administration. Performs data collections, assembly and interpretation for limited quality programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
