Provides therapeutic, diagnostic, and supportive respiratory care for neonatal through adult patients, including high-risk transport. Collaborates with healthcare teams to manage patient care, education, and emergency resuscitative situations.
Requires an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy and a Wisconsin state license, with RRT certification required within one year. Preferred experience includes 1+ years of critical care in neonatal, pediatric, or adult ICU settings.
Current employees who graduated prior to January 1, 2005 will be grandfathered with current CRT credential. - Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist preferred. - Basic personal computer skills required. - Must possess analytical skills necessary to resolve complex clinical problems relating to respiratory care issues and patient safety and welfare. - Ability to work independently and utilize time management, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills. - Ability to cope with physically and mentally stressful situations. - Interpersonal skills which frequently involve collaborating with peers, supervisors and medical staff on issues in order to accomplish objectives for patient care. - Maintains and demonstrates the ability to rotate shifts and/or work flexible hours to meet patient care needs. - Ability to stand and walk for up to eighty percent of work time when performing job assignments or responding to emergency calls. - Ability to push or pull equipment that may weigh up to 170 lb. Ability to lift equipment/supplies up to 25 lb. Ability to lift or move patients. Ability to assemble complex equipment and perform fine motor skills. - Demonstrates analytical skills necessary to resolve complex clinical problems in a mobile environment. - Must pass pre-placement physical exam within the physical capacity evaluation (PCE). This will include annual weight, blood pressure, hearing, and vision screening. must be able to lift/carry 65 pounds, push/pull up to 40 pounds occasionally, reach overhead moderately, climb moderately, squat/bend/kneel occasionally, sit/stand moderately, walk/move about frequently, tolerate tight quarters, small spaces and sit in a confined space. An annual physical exam and PCE will be performed. Licenses and Certifications: - License Respiratory Care Practitioner (28) - State of Wisconsin required - RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist - The National Board for Respiratory Care within 1 Year required - BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required - NRP-Neonatal Resuscitation Provider - American Academy of Pediatrics/American Heart Association within 90 Days required - PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council within 90 Days required Patient Care Responsibility - Provides care appropriate to patient population and as described in applicable policies and procedures.
