Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with speech, language, hearing, voice, cognition, or swallowing disorders. Manage total patient cases, including documentation, progress reporting, and coordination of discharge planning.
Requires a Master's Degree in speech therapy and eligibility for licensure with the State of Kansas Board as an SLP. CPR certification is mandatory, and the candidate must be able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 80 pounds.
Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, collecting data, and documenting health insurance billings; as needed. Provides therapy for all types of speech, language, voice, cognition and swallowing disorders as well as educational and family counseling Performs diagnostic evaluations and provides results in written form for the medical record. Provides total case management and systematic reporting of progress, recommendations, and referrals in accordance with application guidelines. Actively participates in patient evaluation conferences with emphasis on discharge planning and referrals pertinent to continue rehabilitation and/or stabilization of clinical gains. Assesses and manages swallowing disorders in coordination with other departments. Keeps informed of changes and innovations in the field through professional contacts, literature, and workshops. Plans and conducts lectures and training programs on speech therapy and related topics for medical staff, students, and community groups. Maintain and promote a positive attitude toward clients and their treatment programs. Comply with the personnel policies, department policies and CHS Code of Conduct. Other duties may be assigned. Education and/or Experience: Required: Master’s Degree from an accredited school of speech therapy: in their clinical or fellowship (CF) or received their certificate of clinical competence (CCC) and eligible for the state Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
