The Certified First Assist Technologist provides direct surgical assistance to surgeons through wound exposure, suturing, and tissue handling. They are responsible for maintaining the sterile field, preparing the operating room, and ensuring the safety of patients and staff during procedures.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Surgical Technology First Assist Program. Required certifications include national certification as both a Surgical First Assistant and a Surgical Technologist, along with CPR certification and 10+ years of critical care experience.
