About the Role

• The Anesthesia Tech plays a critical role in supporting anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists by preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment and supplies to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.
• This position involves the setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of anesthesia machines and related devices before, during, and after surgical procedures.
• The Anesthesia Tech is responsible for monitoring equipment functionality and assisting in the management of anesthesia supplies inventory.
• They collaborate closely with the surgical team to facilitate smooth anesthesia delivery and respond promptly to any technical issues that arise.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Familiarity with anesthesia equipment and operating room protocols.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Anesthesia Technology program or equivalent training.
• Certification as an Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.) or equivalent credential.
• Experience working in a hospital or surgical center setting.
• Advanced certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Strong knowledge of infection control standards and sterilization techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex anesthesia equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, and maintain anesthesia equipment and supplies to ensure proper functioning and readiness for surgical procedures.
• Assist anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists during the induction, maintenance, and emergence phases of anesthesia by providing necessary equipment and technical support.
• Monitor anesthesia machines and related devices throughout procedures to detect and resolve any malfunctions or irregularities promptly.
• Manage inventory of anesthesia supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper sterilization of reusable equipment.
• Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams to maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment, adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
