Provide and coordinate patient care, education and emotional support to patients and their families.
· Performs an individualized client-centered assessment and documents prioritizing data collection based on the patient's immediate and ongoing condition or needs.
· Develops and performs plan of care that is individualized for the patient population served, reflecting collaboration with the other members of the healthcare team.
· Provides individualized patient/family education specific to the patient population served
· Interprets, documents and monitors patient's cardiac rhythm per policy. Report early signs of deterioration and responds to emergency situations changes in cardiac rhythm and critical lab results to MD immediately but not to exceed one hour.
· Accurately administers medication utilizing BCMA.
· Demonstrates proficiency in performing life saving measures according to adult resuscitation protocols.
· Familiarizes self with new equipment, medications and nursing processes by attending in-service education opportunities.
· Initiate and implement applicable core measures and protocols.
· Adheres to infection prevention protocols including hand hygiene, CLABSI, CAUTI, VAE and Surgical Site Infections as well as transmission based precautions.
· Adheres to HIPPA rules and regulations and current patient safety standards.
· Ensures proper discharge instructions and medication reconciliation including follow-up referral
· Assists with bedside interventional procedures
· Precepts new nurses as assigned.
· Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Qualifications: and Skills
· Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written. Must be fluent in the English language. Bilingual preferred but not required.
Education, Experience and Certification/Licensure Requirements
· NJ or multi state compact RN license.
· Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN/MSN preferred.
· 6 months to 1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred but not required.
· BSN preferred
· BLS - AHA approved
· ACLS within 6 months of hire
· Specialty certification preferred, IV certification preferred, competent in arrhythmia recognition within 6 months of employment.
· New nursing graduates are required to attend the onsite Nursing Residency Program.
