The student will run experiments to optimize molecular diagnostic tests for detecting bacterial pathogens and antimicrobial resistance genes. They will utilize nucleic acid amplification, bacterial culture, and lateral flow detection technology.
Previous laboratory research experience is encouraged. The candidate must be eligible for the Federal Work Study program.
The FWS student will be responsible for running experiments to optimize molecular diagnostic tests being developed to detect bacterial pathogens and their antimicrobial resistance genes in clinical samples. The FWS student will be trained in biosafety, using nucleic acid amplification techniques, bacterial culture, and lateral flow detection technology. Previous lab research experience is encouraged.
