Develop and facilitate comprehensive case management plans to help homeless families achieve self-sufficiency and life transformation. Perform intake assessments, coordinate essential services, and maintain detailed client records and documentation.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED with a Bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or social work preferred. Candidates must have at least 3 years of related experience and a valid driver's license.
Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. We are dedicated to serving men, women, and children experiencing homelessness and providing comprehensive emergency and long-term services to help them escape the dangerous streets of Skid Row. Established in 1891, URM is now one of the largest rescue missions of its kind in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles. EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURES: Must have High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, social work, or a closely related field preferred. Minimum 3 year of prior related experience. Prior experience working with or serving homeless families is preferred. Valid driver’s license with the ability to be added to the company’s insurance policy.
Must have excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task in a high stress environment. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats. Proficient in Microsoft programs including Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn proprietary computer programs. Fluency in Spanish, both verbal and written, is a plus. Child Development and Special Education background is a plus.
