GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: The Staff RN is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a select group of patients/families for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients during admission, Phase 1 and Phase 2 anesthesia up to and including transfer/discharge. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing. BSN preferred Current RN License in the state of Texas Bilingual preferred Pediatric experience required Critical Care experience preferred CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS.
Current licensure in the state of Texas
CPR Certification
Must test for a unit specific certification (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse - CPAN, Certified Ambulatory Per anesthesia Nurse –CAPA) upon qualification to sit for exam
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Phase I Recovery Staff. Until all children are well.
