The technician is responsible for rooming wellness and problem appointments, obtaining vitals, and educating clients on preventative care. They also perform clinical tasks including blood draws, IVC placement, injections, and radiographs.
Candidates should have 1-2 years of veterinary experience, though new graduates are encouraged to apply. Certification is preferred but not required.
Job Description: Animal Hospital of Dauphin County is growing and looking to bring on a Veterinary Technician
Room Position: · Room Wellness and Problem appointments obtaining vitals and history
· Educate client on preventative care including, preventative blood work, 4DX/ FIV/FELV testing, dental care, weight management and yearly f/t and hwt prevention
· Discuss medication prescribed including side effects, etc.
· Chart for Exam Doctor
· Pull Blood, place IVC, Give SQ,IM,IV injections
· Perform Radiographs
Schedule would range from 10 and 12hr shifts. Flexible schedule with rotating weekend coverage required at our larger hospital.
1-2 years of Veterinary experience required, new grads encouraged to apply. Certification or ability to become certified preferred but not required.
Pay based on experience and technical skills.
