The LPN provides direct and indirect patient care for adults with mental and behavioral health needs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include administering medications, performing assessments, and documenting patient findings in medical records.
Candidates must be a licensed LPN in the State of Louisiana with certification from an approved Practical Nursing Program. One year of experience is preferred, with a strong preference for those with behavioral health or geriatric backgrounds.

Freedom Behavioral Hospital is an 82-bed acute care facility providing specialized care for adults with their mental health and behavioral health needs. The hospital offers a wide range of services, including inpatient and outpatient care, as well as a variety of specialized programs and is a trusted resource for those seeking quality care and support.
The LPN provides direct and indirect patient care services that meet the psycho-social, physical and general aspects of care; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Communicates with physicians and team members about changes in patients' conditions, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology.
Shifts are 12 hours with a 2/3 split rotation
We are currently hiring for the West Monroe facility.
Utilizes assessment scales to identify basic needs of patients by collecting data and identifying deviations from normal. Effectively communicates pertinent assessment findings with other health care members. Accurately and thoroughly document all findings in the patient record. Identifies expected outcomes based on assessment data. Implements nursing care interventions identified in the individualized multidisciplinary treatment plan using accepted standards of practice in collaboration with other health care providers. Performs nursing procedures/treatments as prescribed by physician. Performs vital signs/measurement on patients as ordered and as needed based on nursing judgment and documents same in the medical record. Administers medications utilizing established safety procedures / standards. Accurately communicates/documents medication doses prescribed. Transcribes orders accurately and performs chart audits of transcription accurately and according to facility guidelines. Follows up on patient care responsibilities; communicates incomplete assignments and patient needs with other disciplines to assure continuity of care. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
One year LPN experience preferred. Previous experience with behavioral health and/or geriatrics strongly preferred.
