The Float Pool RN provides direct, patient-centered nursing care across multiple hospital departments, adapting quickly to changing patient care needs and staffing demands. This role is essential in maintaining high-quality clinical care while supporting nursing teams throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is flexible, clinically confident, and committed to delivering compassionate care to patients across a variety of healthcare settings. Essential Responsibilities Provide compassionate emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families Deliver direct nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation Administer medications safely utilizing electronic medical records and medication scanning procedures Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and treatments Monitor patient conditions, documenting changes and communicating concerns appropriately Perform comprehensive assessments and reassessments for patients of all age groups Maintain safe, clean, and infection-controlled patient care environments Prioritize patient care effectively in emergency and high-stress situations Float between departments as needed to support patient care operations Participate in orientation, mentoring, and quality improvement initiatives Maintain competency requirements for all assigned float areas Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams Required Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina required Current BLS Certification required ACLS Certification required during orientation PALS Certification required within three (3) months of hire Recent experience in medical-surgical, emergency, critical care, or related acute care settings preferred Ideal Candidate We are seeking a nursing professional who is: Flexible, adaptable, and confident in diverse clinical environments A strong communicator and collaborative team player Committed to professional development and continuous learning Patient-focused with a passion for high-quality care Dependable, compassionate, and solution-oriented Additional Requirements Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment unless an approved exemption has been granted Must comply with all hospital policies, HIPAA regulations, and professional standards Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening required upon conditional offer of employment Application Instructions To apply, please submit: Employment Application Resume Cover Letter, including explanations for gaps in employment and reasons for separation Why Join Ashe Memorial Hospital?
