Facilitate safe and effective invasive surgical procedures by ensuring the operating room environment and equipment are properly prepared. Work under surgeon supervision to apply sterile techniques and maximize patient safety during therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Requires a high school diploma and completion of a surgical technology course or comparable experience, with recent OR scrub experience. CPR certification is required, and certification from the Association of Surgical Technologists is preferred.
