Assess, plan, and implement personalized occupational therapy programs to help acute care patients regain functional independence. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and supervise support personnel to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requires a valid Occupational Therapist license and BLS for Provider certification from the American Heart Association. Candidates must be able to supervise assistants and students while demonstrating competency in patient growth and development.

Evaluate patients’ abilities and limitations. Establish treatment goals based on evaluation findings and referral reasons, considering neuromuscular movement and stability, sensation, activities of daily living (ADLs), perception, cognition, vocational and prevocational abilities, developmental status, dysphagia, manual muscle testing, range of motion, body mechanics, and other relevant assessments. Assess home and work environments, recommending physical barrier modifications or ergonomic adaptations as needed. Administer therapy according to established plans, utilizing appropriate procedures, equipment, and techniques within the scope of Occupational Therapy practice. Recommend adaptive equipment, complete justification documentation, and coordinate delivery. Re-evaluate patients regularly to assess progress and provide discharge recommendations when appropriate. Collaborate and co-treat with therapists from other disciplines. Fabricate splints as required. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of patient care in accordance with established standards. Educate patients and caregivers on therapy goals, treatment methods, home program execution, and injury prevention strategies. Supervise patient care activities performed by aides, assistants, attendants, and volunteers.
Education: As required by licensure.
