• One California Job Summary and Responsibilities As a surgical services nurse at Glendale Memorial Medical Center you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist in the operating room to ensure they receive excellent nursing when they are at their most vulnerable.
• Every day you will go over consent forms answer questions about the procedure do preoperative assessments make sure the equipment is ready to go and update family members on the surgery status during the operation.
• You will be expected to directly assist the surgeon during the actual surgery.
• As a surgical services nurse with us you are expected to apply your surgical nursing knowledge and skills in the operating room and it doesn’t stop there.

• Our surgical department consists of 8 operating rooms with a designated cardiac and urology suite.

Responsibilities

Assist surgeon and surgical team in the OR Care for patients before during and after procedures Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients This position is represented by CNA. Job Requirements Required Minimal education as required for licensure. Minimum of 6 months previous acute care RN experience in same unit., upon hire and Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire Preferred Bachelors Of Nursing BSN, upon hire
