The Nurse Extern performs routine nursing tasks and assists Registered Nurses with patient care activities. They operate within hospital policies to gain clinical experience in the SICU.
Candidates must be a Junior or Senior in an accredited professional nursing program with two instructor recommendation letters. Required certifications include CPR and Glucoscan.

Within the framework of the hospital and nursing service policies and procedures, the primary purpose of the Nurse Extern is to carry out routine and assigned nursing tasks and assists the nurse with carrying out patient care activities within the scope of training and experience.
