Responsible for analyzing laboratory specimens and reporting results according to established protocols. Performs clinical procedures on body fluids and manages specimen tracking and send-outs to reference laboratories.
Requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology. Must hold a Clinical Lab Technologist license from the State of Florida upon hire.
The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures. This position performs requested clinical procedures on body fluids and clinical procedures related to patient care; performs quality control maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory instruments, performs clerical work in the absence of a technical assistant and assist the manager in any capacity requested. This position performs tracking for specimens coming to the department and helps with the send outs to reference laboratories and receive and approve same results.
