Assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties, including recording vital signs and administering injections in an oncology environment. Manages clinical support tasks such as scheduling, phone calls, and maintaining exam room supplies.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 0-3 years of experience as a medical or nursing assistant. BCLS certification is required within 3 months of hire, and a Medical Assistant certificate or certification is preferred.

M/D/V, Life Ins., 401(k), PTO, Paid Holidays SCOPE: Under direct supervision, assists physicians and clinicians with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care, i.e. exams, and procedures. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and maintaining physicians schedule. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Northwest Cancer Centers is the most advanced oncology group in Northwest Indiana. Our Gynecologic Oncology team offers an integrative approach to the diagnosis, treatment and surgical management of women cancers. This is an entry level position requiring 0-3 years experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant. High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred. Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire. Certified Medical Assistant preferred. Some state regulations may require specific certifications in order to work as a Medical Assistant.
