Candidates must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Previous caregiving experience and a high school diploma or GED are preferred.
Overview Heritage Home Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dependable PRN Caregiver for a dedicated client assignment in Las Cruces, New Mexico (88001). In this role, you will provide high-quality in-home care and delegated personal care services, supporting the client with daily living activities while ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity in the home environment. This position involves providing structured one-on-one support for a client who is blind and requires assistance with daily routines and community access. Key Responsibilities Assist with meal preparation and maintain kitchen safety Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating Follow individualized care plans and delegated care instructions provided by licensed professionals Support medication reminders and delegated care tasks per care plan and agency guidelines Provide mobility assistance, including transfers from bed, chair, or wheelchair Maintain a clean, safe, and organized home environment through light housekeeping assistance Provide structured support and orientation assistance for a client who is blind Assist with organization, scheduling appointments, and completing errands Escort or transport client to appointments or community activities as needed (reliable transportation required) Observe, document, and report changes in client condition, behavior, or care needs to the clinical team What We’re Looking For Compassionate, organized, and dependable caregivers Experience supporting individuals who are blind or visually impaired preferred Strong communication and time-management skills Ability to work independently and follow care plans accurately Calm, patient, and safety-focused approach to care Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus Morning availability preferred Must have reliable transportation for client support and appointments
