The technician is responsible for the continuous monitoring of cardiac rhythms and the accurate interpretation of rhythm strips. They must notify appropriate medical staff of any baseline changes or lethal rhythms according to established protocols.
A high school diploma or GED is required, though 10 years of work experience may be substituted. No prior professional experience is required, but the candidate must be able to meet specific physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs.
