What You'll Do (and Why It Matters)

• Empowerment
• Advocate: You'll plan and support individuals in a wide range of daily activities, from vocational training and personal living skills to recreational outings and community integration. You'll help them discover new interests, build confidence, and become more independent.
• Health and
• Safety
• Champion: You'll assist individuals in maintaining healthy lifestyles, monitor their well-being, and ensure a safe and clean environment. You'll be a key observer and will report any changes in their health or behavior.
• Life
• Skills
• Coach: You'll provide training and assistance in everything from healthy dietary choices to personal hygiene, adapting your approach to meet each individual's unique needs.
• Communication
• Hub: You'll stay connected with the team by checking and responding to program messages daily.
• Performance
• Partner: You'll observe, evaluate, and provide feedback on individuals' performance in group settings and work assignments, helping them develop valuable skills and build self-esteem.

Transportation

• You'll safely transport individuals to activities, work, and home, adhering to all GAAMHA safety policies.
• Record
• Keeper: You'll accurately document progress, observations, and other important information in our electronic records system, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
• Team
• Player: You'll actively participate in required training and maintain a professional demeanor at all times, reflecting GAAMHA's values and commitment to dignity and respect.

• Table: A high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in human services or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus, but your genuine desire to help others is what truly matters. Fluency in written and oral English. Bi-Lingual candidates a plus! A clean CORI (criminal record check). A valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Physical Requirements

This role involves some physical activity, including assisting with daily living activities, bending, cleaning, standing, climbing, kneeling, and pushing (e.g., wheelchairs).
