Perform echocardiographic and vascular exams under the direction of cardiologists and radiologists. Implement appropriate imaging techniques and maintain accurate patient documentation using established protocols.
Requires an Associate's degree and RDCS or RCS registration, or completion of an accredited CAAHEP program with certification within six months. Must possess BLS or ACLS training and have completed a clinical internship.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Applies knowledge of anatomy and pathophysiology and uses critical thinking to implement appropriate imaging techniques and procedures to obtain pertinent patient data using established protocols. Adjusts for appropriate patient or circumstance, and identifies potential abnormalities. Performs adult transthoracic echocardiography with the expectation that there will be assignment to additional areas of the echocardiography lab such as vascular, pediatric, stress, and TEE. Completes documentation on time and accurately using current technology. Demonstrates flexibility in learning all equipment and supporting department operations such as supply management, equipment maintenance, and room turnover. Addresses situations or decisions to ensure patient concerns or needs are met.
