A high school diploma and six months of work experience are required, with a bachelor's degree and clinical research experience preferred. Reliable transportation is mandatory for field visits and site travel.
Researchers at Johns Hopkins University conduct clinical trials and clinical studies to discover new ways to prevent and treat diseases and other health problems. The Division of Pulmonary is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant who will provide routine support to the research team by helping implement steps and processes of a clinical research protocol.
The Clinical Research Assistant primary responsibilities will include leading participant recruitment for clinical research, answering study related questions, screening potential participants, data collection and entry, scheduling and maintaining study calendar and serving as a liaison between the participants and the different research team members. Reliable transportation is needed as field visits and different working sites are part of this position. Excellent communication skills and a high level of work ethic and professionalism are required in addition to maintaining a high level of motivation and positive attitude.
Collect study data as required by the protocol, e.g., interviews, surveys, clinical procedures, etc. Perform data entry and organize data in approved systems. Gain and use a basic understanding of the clinical study background and rationale for communication with potential and current participants. Assist with routine contact of study participants. Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or graduation equivalent. Six months of work experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Reliable transportation is needed.
