Assists physicians and nurses during endoscopy procedures by providing instrumentation and anticipating clinical needs. Responsible for the care, disinfection of instruments, and maintaining the asepsis of the procedural suite.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and preferably at least 6 months of related medical experience. BLS and CPR certifications are preferred.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Assists physician during procedure by providing instrumentation and anticipating needs. Sets up procedural equipment and provides instrumentation and supplies necessary to perform procedures. Assists in the patient preparation pre and post procedure under supervision of the circulating nurse. Assists circulating nurse in obtaining and securing all specimens for diagnostic testing. Demonstrates competencies in multiple specialties and facilitates patient flow. Performs environmental activities to maintain asepsis of the procedural suite. Develops understanding and provides documentation needs utilizing in the methodology including systems such as Ulticare and Provation. Decision Making: Independent judgment in making decisions involving non-routine problems under general supervision. Working Relationships: Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise) Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise) Works directly with patients and/or customers.
