The role focuses on ventilator management, airway maintenance, and pulmonary assessment for critically ill patients. It involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to implement RT-driven protocols and liberate patients from mechanical ventilation.
Candidates must hold an active CRT or RRT credential, current state licensure, and BLS certification. ACLS certification is required within six months of hire, and one year of related experience is preferred.
Evaluating patients and utilizing RT driven protocols to liberate patients from mechanical ventilation and adjust treatment plans within scope. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote optimal patient outcomes. Providing respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. Bronchoscopies Arterial Blood gases Promoting continuous quality improvement. Teaching and counseling patients/families.
Minimum requirements: Must possess "Active" CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or state equivalent. Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma (preferred) or high school transcript/diploma or GED. Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date. Current state licensure is required. ACLS is required within 6 months of hire. (Agency RT must have ACLS upon first shift, PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire).
