Monitor Technician/Telemetry Technician

Observes electrocardiogram (ECG) monitor and closed-circuit television (CCTV) and alert nurses and physicians to changes in the patient’s heart rate rhythm and the occurrence of arrhythmias.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED
• Completion of Medical Assistant program – HIGHLY PREFERRED
• Successful completion of Rhythm Recognition Course – PREFERRED
• Prior experience as Telemetry Technician - REQUIRED
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
• Ability to operate cardiac monitors and EKG machines - REQUIRED
• Ability to communicate effectively, and follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to recognize myocardial infarction arrhythmia
• Strong quality customer service skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to recognize normal and abnormal arrhythmias
